One more bit of information on the State
Tournament for the Victory League teams, the
draftees. Sobieski drafted Troy Wunderlich from
the Avon Lakers, and the Lastrup Lakers drafted Brett
Kramer from the Fort Ripley Rebels.
Added two new polls for the Ski MVP award for the past
two weeks and updated the statistics.

The Ski's are the Region 8C Champions!
They knocked off two sets of Lakers yesterday to take
the Region title for the fourth time in the past ten
years. First up was an elimination game versus the
Avon Lakers which they took 7-2, then followed it up
with a 10-9 win over the Lastrup Lakers for the title.
The Ski's will advance to the State Tournament as a
result of the success yesterday. Their opening
game will be next Sunday, August 22nd, in Willmar
against the Region 2C runner-up, New Ulm Kaiserhoff.
Lastrup will also move on to the State Tournament where
they will face the Essig
Blue Jays in Willmar following the Ski's game.

The Ski's beat Fort Ripley yesterday to stay
alive in the Region 8C Tournament. They will play
the Avon Lakers today in a State Tournament qualifying
game. If they win they will then face the Lastrup
Lakers for the Region 8C title.

The Ski's return to action today at 4:00 pm
with a game vs. Fort Ripley in Buckman.

The Ski's take on the Royalton Riverdogs
today in Buckman at approximately 2:00 pm in a Region
Tournament elimination game.
UPDATE: The Ski's defeated the Riverdogs, 10-3 to
stay alive. They will play the winner of the Fort
Ripley-Brainerd game next Saturday at 4:00 pm in
Buckman.

It was another shut out this week for Andrew
Lange, in the Ski MVP
voting that is. Andrew took home his third
straight MVP honor, fourth in the past five weeks, and
sixth of the season. See the numbers here.
Don't forget, the Region 8C tournament is scheduled to
resume today in Pierz. The Skis are on the docket
for a 5:00 pm start vs. Avon in a winner's bracket game
(weather permitting). Head over to Pierz to watch
a full day of Victory League action, or listen on the
radio at KLTF 960 AM, or online at fallsradio.com.
UPDATE: The Ski's lose to Avon 5-2. The
Ski's will now face divisional foe the Royalton
Riverdogs tomorrow at 2:00 pm in Buckman.

The Skis got off to a good start in the Region 8C
tournament, taking the first game 3-1 over
Brainerd. Due to the second day being a completed
wash out the Skis will next face Avon this coming
Saturday, in Pierz, at 5:00 pm. See the region

Andrew Lange nosed it out in a very close vote
last week to take home his second consecutive Ski
MVP award. Will this weeks regions performance
earn him a third in a row? The votes will

The Skis hung another banner yesterday with a
8-1 win over Royalton to secure the VL West Playoff
title. After the game the Skis drafted Jason
King from the Randall Cubs, and John Fuchs of
the Upsala Blue Jays. See more below.
The voting is closed for the past two weeks of Ski
MVPs and the results show that one vote was very competitive
and close while the other was not. In the end Nathan
Olson and Andrew Lange were voted the winners
for the past two weeks. See the numbers and read

Update: The Ski's beat Royalton 2-1 today to
advance to the West division title game.
The Ski's won game one of the divisional
playoffs yesterday by a 3-0 score over the Blue
Jay's. More info below. Today the Ski's will
host Royalton in Sobieski for a chance to advance to the
West divisional title game. The game is also the
Victory League game of the week, so if you can't make it
to the ballpark be sure to tune into KLTF radio over the
airwaves or online
and listen to the game.

The Skis sweep the weekend home and home with Flensburg
and secured the division championship and a bid to the
regions at the same time.
Nathan Olson took home his third Ski
MVP award in a row last week, tying him for second
with Jon Czech on the all-time list. It
wasn't a unanimous vote though. See who else got

Flensburg today. It's a great day to watch some

The Skis took first place in their
tournament over the weekend. They finished with a
2-1 record along with Sauk Centre, but the Skis won the
tie breaker by defeating the Titans 11-7 in the
finale.

recently. To catch up, the Skis had the Flensburg
game postponed due to rain and a win at Randall in come

The Skis took game one of the weekend,
12-7 over the Buckman Billygoats. Today the Skis
will square off against the East leading, undefeated,
Lakers of Lastrup. It's the Victory League game of
the week, so if you can't make it to the game be sure to
listen to all the action on AM 960, KLTF radio, or
online at fallsradio.com.
Update: As seen below the Skis made it a weekend
road sweep with a big win over Lastrup this
afternoon. More to come...

It was a close vote, but in the end Andrew
Lange was named the Ski
MVP for his performance last weekend. It is
the second time that Andrew has won the award overall,
first this season. See the numbers and read the

The Skis hit the road this holiday weekend for two
against the top two teams in the East. The Skis
first five wins were all against teams with losing
records. The one loss was against the only team
they have played to date with a winning record,
divisional opponent Upsala. Buckman and Lastrup
have a combined record of 8-2. This will be a good
measure of the strength of the team this season.

Happy Cinco De Mayo everyone. The
voting was so close in the first Ski
MVP poll of the year that I had to leave it open for
over two weeks to get a fair vote. In the end it
was Greg Aker taking the week one honors.

To catch up on the past couple of weeks, the Skis went
1-1 in the two games (game recaps below). They
lost to division rival Upsala in the Victory League
opener and routed the Foley Outlaws in week two.
Both games were at home. They will travel to
Royalton for a game this Sunday.
Congratulations to Lonny Hutchins who was named
the Victory League offensive player of the week this

2010 Victory League play will
begin for the Skis on Sunday, April 25th. Look for the
complete Victory League schedule to be released in the
next couple weeks.
The Sobieski Skis have recently been accepted as one of
the eight teams to play in the first annual Stearns
County Classic this summer. The 8-team tourney will be
played Friday, Saturday, and Sunday June 4th, 5th and
6th in the host towns of Lake Henry and St. Martin. Stay
tuned to this site for more info regarding the tourney.
Also for 2010, the Skis are welcoming back the Clear
Lake Lakers, Sauk Centre Titans, and Pearl Lake Lakers
to their 11th Annual Skis Tourney. This year's tourney
will be held in Sobieski on Saturday and Sunday, June
19th and 20th.
